Indoor Exhibition Saturday 29th March 2014 in Swannington School
Come and see our exhibition on this fascinating project and find out about:
• The patients in the Isolation Hospital
• The families who lived in the Califat Cottages, including Charlie Hyde who planted the spinney
The changes to some of Swannington’s prominent buildings such as Manor Farm
• The residents and houses at the other end of the village to where you live
Outdoor Exhibition Sunday 16th to Sunday 30th March 2014
Imagine walking along the main road from Hoo Ash island to Peggs Green roundabout and outside every house there would be a poster telling you about the people who were living there in 1911. Well that is what we would like to achieve and we will be asking the residents of Swannington if we can put up a poster in their garden (or their window if it directly abuts the street).
We don’t expect everyone to walk the length and depth of the village, it’s a long road. But perhaps we can tempt you to explore 20 metres or 50 metres wither side of your house. Likewise when walking your children to school or to the bus stop you could be tempted to have a look.
There will be a quiz sheet with prizes for the correct answers available to download from the 16th March.
